Hello there! My name is Sreenath Sreenivasan. I am a writer, musician, and educator based in Ahmedabad, India. My latest book, ‘Pedals and Perspectives’ is a collection of short stories experienced over my 8-month-long solo bicycle trip across Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, and India. I publish poetry, short-stories, and essays on my website regularly.
Musically, I speak through the drums. I am deeply inspired by nature and I strive to emulate its beauty and diversity in my approach towards life and music. I share a deep passion for music education. In 2019-2020, I toured in India with my workshop ‘The Rhythm Experience’ that’s designed to help musicians understand the fascinating world of rhythm in a simple, accessible, and compassionate way.
Some fantastic musical projects that I have been a part of over the years are Bollyjazz (New Delhi), The Matt Littlewood Trio (Auroville), Afterglow (New Delhi), The Auroville Jazz Quartet (Auroville). I am currently based in Ahmedabad and play with Bengaluru based Jazz-Funk band Groovemeister, The Matt Littlewood Trio, and The Meera Desai Quintet.
If you would like to collaborate, pitch an idea, or just say hello, feel free to connect with me.
